Automated Sorter Slat Production

Turning High-Volume Production into Cost-Effective Reality

Conveyor Manufacturer Needed to Ramp Up Production, Not Costs

Manual manufacturing and assembly have their place. However, when a conveyor manufacturer needed to ramp up production to meet growing and unpredictable demand while reducing costs, slower, less accurate manual methods weren’t going to cut it. They needed a solution that would provide rapid, high-volume production of a key assembly without having to extend their workforce.

The Raymath Solution: Custom Automated Processes

Manually assembling the six individual components took 3 minutes per assembly, and eight people produced only 1,200 units a day. Raymath custom-built an automated assembly line using a walking beam-style conveyor that moved the component through 6 stages, where a new component would be added at each station. This system only required two individuals to load the components and remove and skid the finished assembly. This dramatically reduced labor costs while increasing production capacity to 1,800 daily units.

Improved Throughput, Reduced Labor

Automated processes are much more efficient than manual labor, dramatically reducing human error defects and labor requirements, ensuring consistent results, and even lights-out. By designing custom automated processes for sorter slat production, we decreased labor by 400% and increased production by 50%. That is an ROI you can present to your boss!
